PREMIUM CREATIVE FOR AUDACY ADVERTISERS
A reason to listen.
A reason to act.
Your brand has to be known before it’s needed. Your commercial needs to catch someone’s attention, make them care, and give them a clear reason to choose you over the competition.
Skip Kelly is an audio producer, copywriter, and voice actor who works with advertisers across the country to turn business goals into distinctive, persuasive ad campaigns. Skip’s premium creative and production services are included when you advertise with Audacy.
If your Audacy rep sent you here, then they’re already looking out for you. Here, you’ll get a level of personal attention and production expertise you’d expect to pay top dollar for at an agency. But, for Audacy advertisers it’s already included, with one goal: helping turn loyal listeners into loyal customers.
Some commercials follow a formula.
Yours should have a purpose.
“Call 1-800-555-5555! That’s 1-800-555-5555! Again, slowly, for those driving with a pen: 1-800-555-5555!”
Some advertising “best practices” have been passed around for so long that no one questions them. Often, it’s outdated advice that’s no longer effective with today’s audiences. The gold-standard formula for radio advertising in the 80s and 90s doesn’t translate to audio ads on streaming or social media.
“THE BEST QUALITY! THE BEST SERVICE! THE BEST PRICES! Just like our competition, ONLY LOUDER!”
Skip brings a modern, more thoughtful approach, shaped by decades of writing, performing, and producing commercials. He stays tuned to audience research, shifts in advertising, and what real campaigns reveal about what works and what doesn’t. Your business gets an original idea, a persuasive message, and production that makes every second of airtime count.
“In case you’ve never heard of Google, we’re conveniently located at 7428 West Industrial Parkway South, Suite B, behind the old furniture warehouse. Use the second entrance.”
You can hear the difference:
Skip’s first script for Apollo Heating, Air & Plumbing brought a… different personality to their advertising. The client had just recently added plumbing services to their business and wanted a memorable way to get the word out. Apollo reported so much recognition and positive feedback that they embedded the audio on their own website. The spot ran for nearly a year, and Apollo never went back to the old formula.
They weren’t all believers at the start.
Audacy Southeast
It started as an experiment. These businesses weren’t advertising with radio, and some didn’t even want a conversation. Some had tried radio and felt let down. Others didn’t believe it could work for them. There was nothing to lose by trying something different.
The goal was to show them what the right creative could do for their business. Skip worked directly with each advertiser to understand their challenges and create something that gave them a reason to reconsider.
RESULT: Six figures in new Audacy ad revenue for Q1 2025, and new lasting partnerships with clients including Margaritaville at Sea and MLB.
THEY WEREN’T BUYING IT
Kia
Kia was looking for a new campaign idea. All there was to start with was the title, “Clear the Air,” a list of vehicles to promote, and a direction to make the spots feel local. Skip wrote an original script that grew into a multi-year campaign, handling the writing, casting, voiceover, sound design, and production.
What began in one Western market expanded nationwide. A second campaign, “All Ways Forward,” followed while “Clear the Air” continued to grow. Both earned extended runs, with fresh scripts for additional cities and vehicles.
RESULT: Roughly 40% growth in Kia’s Audacy ad spend year over year.
FROM LOCAL TO NATIONAL
Gates BBQ Sauce
What started as a single assignment became an ongoing creative partnership. “We’ve Got the Sauce” was the turning point, giving Gates a distinctive personality on the air and opening the door to more creative freedom.
From there, an assignment could be as simple as “make a spot for Labor Day.” Skip wrote and produced more than fifty commercials between 2023 and 2025, finding fresh ways to tell the Gates story while keeping that personality recognizable.
RESULT: “Best Commercial Campaign” awards, back-to-back in 2023 & 2024 - KAB, and a long-lasting partnership.
